The main ingredient in this foaming hand wash is Liquid Castille Soap. You may be wondering what it s and if it is natural.
Back in the day, Castile Soap was made with Olive Oil. Its name refers to the Castile region of Spain and is a vegetable-based soap. It is free of synthetic ingredients and also animal fats.

Castile Soap is biodegradable and non-toxic. You can purchase it in bar or liquid form. It is also considered safe for the most sensitive skins.
DIY All Natural Foaming Hand Soap Recipe
- 2.3 oz (65g) liquid castile soap
- 15-20 drops of essential oils
- 4.8 oz water, 135g water
- Foaming Pump Bottle
Recommended Essential Oils
When it comes to choosing an Essential Oil, whilst it’s a personal choice, look for one with anti-bacterial properties.
Tea Tree, Clove, Lemon, Eucalyptus and Lavender are all good choices. Don’t be afraid to experiment with a combination of essential oils either. You can make your very own special blends.
How To Make Foaming Hand Wash
To a bowl or your soap dispenser bottle, add your Castile Soap and essential oils of your choice. Stir ingredients until well combined.
This will take up to 5 minutes. Now add in your water. The water that you use should only be distilled, pre-boiled and cooled or purified. This will extend the shelf life.
Transfer your foaming mixture to a pump bottle.
Using Your Foaming Hand Wash
1-2 pumps of foam are all you will need to use when you wash your hands. Massage into your hands and rinse your hands thoroughly with warm water prior to towel drying.
