How To Keep Fresh Flowers Alive Longer Tips

Here are some general tips that you can apply to any type of flower to ensure their longevity.

Cut the stems properly when you get home. This gives your flowers as many nutrients as possible. It will also help get rid of any moldy parts that may have started forming at the base of the flower. Cut them at an angle, 1-2 inches from the bottom of the stem, using sharp kitchen scissors or shears.

Change your water regularly. And add more plant food or the magic ingredient shown in the video.

Be sure the water in the vase does not go over the leafy parts of the stem. Keep the leaves above water.

Pay attention to which flowers go well together. Did you know there is a chemical inside daffodils that can destroy other flowers? Before you put a bouquet together, be sure the flowers are friendly.
