Whilst delicious, Avocado’s are on the more pricey end of the grocery list and you don’t always need to use a whole one at that time. That leaves the dilemma. What to do with the unused half and what is the best way to store it?
There is nothing more frustrating than discovering that your Avocado fails to make it through the night and it’s a mushy mess.
There are lots of suggestions including rubbing lemon and lime juice, leaving the stone and covering with the unused skin and also a covered water method. Well, according to the Huffington Post it’s all a big waste of time! Read on to see the results of their findings.
They road tested all 3 popular methods and said they were a big fat fail! As you can see by the photos above, the results 24 hours later are far from encouraging!

We were excited when we found this awesome tip from The Kitchn – They suggest placing your unused avocado in a plastic container with a piece of chopped onion. Apparently it will keep your Avocado fresh for days. They also said that this process works for guacamole too. Simply sprinkle uncut onion on top of your dip and it works a treat.
