On the other hand, a bright green Avocado is not ripe. An olive-green skin indicates it is 2-3 days away from ripening. This is handy if you don’t need to use it immediately. You can actually pop it in your fruit bowl and allow it to ripen naturally.

While we’re on the subject of ripening avocados, did you know that you can speed up the process? There are certain times of the year when the only avo’s on offer are rock hard.
