Only recently we made a bulk purchase of candles for home. They were really cute and an apple fragrance. The problem was removing the labels. Whilst the soapy water did some of the work, they left ugly residue that was impossible to get off.
We had run out of the usual store bought Goo Goo so headed to Youtube to see if we could find a homemade alternative.

You can use vegetable oil, coconut oil, grape seed oil or even sunflower oil for this recipe base. We have outlined details below but highly suggest you watch the video above ^
Homemade Goo Goo Ingredients
- 1 part baking soda
- 1 part oil (olive, vegetable, or coconut)
Homemade Goo Goo Instructions
Mix 1 part baking soda and 1 part oil.
Cover gooey area with thick layer of mixture.
Let mixture sit for at least one minute.
Wipe down while applying some pressure.
If the area is still sticky, apply another coat of the mixture and let sit longer before wiping.
Wash or wipe down area with warm soapy water to get rid of oil residue. Unclog your sink using 2 simple ingredients. See here.
