Tricks For Streak-Free Windows

In the graphic above from Clear Windows, you can see how to not only clean your windows but keep them streak free afterward. Calling their method the “Blue Rain” method, it uses Blue Dawn dish soap and Rain-X, a cleaner made for car windows.

The magic comes from the Rain-X, which repels dirt, water, and grime that could show up on your window. You can even use a lighter version of the cleaner, Rain-X 2-in-1 for indoor windows.

1. First, you’ll need to wash your windows with the dish soap. If you watched the video we posted above, you saw how to clean your window using a microfibre cloth squeegee. If you can’t get one of those, you can use a regular cloth and bucket. You will have to put in a  little more elbow grease though to get those streaks out.

2.Now you’ll need to spray all of your outdoor windows with Rain-X Original. You can use a cloth or newspaper as they recommend, or use a squeegee.

3. Now that you’ve washed up the outside of your windows, you’ll want to repeat on the inside. You’ll wash them with dish soap, just as you did the outside. Using the Rain-X 2-in-1 repellant, which is safer to use inside, you can easily get the same protection on both sides of the window.

That’s it! This method doesn’t take much longer than cleaning your windows the old-fashioned way with soap and water. You’ll have gorgeous, streak-free windows without having to scrub them down every week.
