Knitting Needle Bag Patterns Details
Pam Allen, the creator of this Knitting Needle Bags Pattern, had a fondness for the berry stitch. It has a lovely texture that is perfect for this design.
This manifested in her cigar-shaped bag which apparently was inspired by a bag she saw in a catalog.
For the front and back, she knitted two slightly shaped rectangles and seamed them along the bottom and partway up the sides.
According to the Pattern Details on Ravelry, rather than binding off, she placed the live stitches on wooden knitting needles, squished them together to form soft gathers, and applied a little superglue.
Whilst Pam’s pattern includes Garter-stitch handles sewn to the front and back, we found many examples like below, where others improvised.

This particular bag pattern isn’t lined, but it would be an easy matter to use the front and back as pattern pieces and add a cheery print lining to prevent needles from poking through.
As you can see above, this is the perfect finishing touch for the bag.
We’re sure that you are going to love making this gorgeous Bag and you can have fun with your yarn colors and lining.
