You can also use salt and baking soda to sprinkle on carpets, bedding and furniture. This is a necessary step if you want to rid your pet and home of fleas.

The Baking Soda also needs to be fresh. Anything less will not work. To see if your Baking Soda is fresh, add a few drops of vinegar. To watch the video, click Play above ^

You should see the product begin to instantly bubble. If this happens, you are fine to use. If not, you need to buy another batch. Baking Soda can be sprinkled liberally on carpets and then swept into your carpet using a broom. For best results, leave it overnight and then vacuum it up.

Over on the ‘One Good Thing By Jillee’ Site, Jillee has a great homemade recipe for freshening up carpets. She also suggests that fleas are repelled by Orange Essential Oils.
