Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole Ingredients

So, let’s take a look at what you are going to need on your Shopping List.

  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Small Onion, Diced
  • 2 Tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Chicken Broth
  • ½ Cup Milk
  • 2 Teaspoons Dijon Mustard
  • 2 Cups Chicken, Cooked
  • Cup Honey Ham, Cooked, one.
  • 1 Cup Orzo Pasta, Cooked to al dente and drained
  • 1 ½ Cups Swiss Cheese, Shredded
  • ¼ Cup Parmesan Cheese, Shredded
  • 1 Cup Coarse Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
  • 1 Teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • ½ Teaspoon Cayenne
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

How To Make Cordon Bleu Casserole Recipe

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease a 13×9 inch baking pan with olive oil and set aside.

In a small pot over medium heat melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add the onion. Season with salt and pepper.

Allow the onion to cook until translucent, about 2 minutes. Add flour and cook for 2 minutes stirring constantly.

Whisk in the milk, chicken broth, and mustard. Simmer until it thickens slightly, about 4 minutes.

In a large bowl mix chicken, ham, pasta, gravy and 1 cup of Swiss cheese. Spread evenly in baking dish.

In another bowl, mix bread crumbs, butter, Italian seasoning, cayenne, Parmesan, and remaining Swiss cheese. Season with salt and pepper.

Mix thoroughly. Spread the breadcrumbs over the top of the casserole. Bake about 20 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
