Apart from being moist and fluffy, it’s a very easy recipe that is perfect with a cuppa. Next time friends or family drop in for morning or afternoon tea, be sure to have these on standby.
Chocolate Brownie Slice Ingredients
- 125g (4.4oz) butter
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 100g (3.5oz) dark chocolate
- 3 eggs (60g)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
- 1 1/2 cup caster sugar
- 3/4 cup plain flour
How To Make Chocolate Brownie Slice Recipe

Preheat oven to 160C (320F) and line an 11” x 8” (28x20cm) medium slice tray with baking paper.
Place cocoa powder into a medium-size bowl. Melt the butter over low heat.
When the butter is melted, add to the cocoa in a steady stream, whisking as you go. Continue to whisk until smooth.
Beat the eggs and vanilla essence together and add to the cocoa mixture. Whisk as you go, until smooth. Add in melted dark chocolate
Add the caster sugar and stir until well combined.
Gently fold in the flour until just combined. Spoon into a baking tray and smooth over.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until firm to touch. Allow the brownies to cool in the tray before cutting and serving.
NOTE: you can add hazelnuts, dried cherries, or anything else that takes your fancy!
