They’re quick, easy, and inexpensive to make and they taste great! Serve them as a snack or with ice cream. They are as good as those you find at the local Chinese Restaurant and now you can make them at home.

Fried Banana Bites Ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 Tablespoons oil
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • up to 5 bananas
  • Icing sugar or Powdered Sugar

How To Make Fried Banana Bites Recipe

Heat Vegetable Oil to approx 350F (180C) – Ensure there’s enough to cover your dessert. 2-2.5 cups are sufficient.

You can use a deep fryer or a saucepan. Combine your batter ingredients, whisk until combined. Add cinnamon and flour and salt. Mix through until completely combined.

Cut your banana up into bite-size pieces and cover in the batter.

Now it’s time to fry! You can use a slotted spoon or tablespoon for this. Gently immerse your bananas into the batter and don’t pop too many in at once otherwise they could go soggy.

Be careful not to use boiling hot oil as your Banana Bites could burn. They are ready when they turn a light golden brown color all the way around.

Start by testing a couple and when you are happy with the result, you can cook the remainder. Todd suggests about 8 minutes.

Remove them from oil and pop on a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Sprinkle with icing or Powdered Sugar.

You can also sprinkle cinnamon sugar on them while they are still hot.

Let them cool slightly before eating as you could burn the roof of your mouth. They’re great with ice cream too.
