Did you know you can make your own homemade butter recipe using your stand mixer? Given there are so many preservatives in store-bought versions, this is a great alternative.
Whilst the video we are sharing uses a Kitchen Aid, you can also substitute with your food processor. The great news is you will get exceptional result that is better than anything you have tasted.
Homemade Butter Recipe Ingredients

- 2 Cups raw or pasteurized whole whipping cream
- 2 Quarts ice water
- Salt, seasonings, or herbs to taste (optional)
This recipe will yield around 1 Cup (8 ounces or 2 Sticks) of Butter. You can halve or double, depending on amount required.
Your butter will also store for up to 2-4 weeks or longer in the freezer. In both instances, you must store in an airtight container.

A couple of important points is to remove as much water as possible. For this reason, cheesecloth is a good option. This is an important step as otherwise, your butter will spoil quite quickly.
