Now you can make your own delicious version of Marshmallow Fondant in these amazing colors and flavors, using packet Jell-O!
This is a great way to decorate cakes and it doesn’t taste sickly. The Jello mixes well with Powdered Sugar and you’ll love the results.
It’s much better than store bought and takes only 30 minutes preparation Take your pick from the green Lime Jello, Orange, Cherry, Lemon or perhaps a Blue Berry flavored Jell-O!
All you need to get started is your Microwave and some mixing bowls. The tutorial below also recommends a nonstick silicon baking mat as this makes the fondant much easier to work with, it can be cleaned in seconds so no sticky mess!
Ingredients Jello Marshmallow Fondant Recipe
- 8 oz Marshmallows
- 1 lb Powdered Sugar
- 3 oz Box of Jell-O Mix flavors of choice
- a Silpat Mat or similar nonstick silicone baking sheet
- 2 tbs Water

Mix together the Marshmallows, Jell-O and water then simply melt the mix for 50 seconds or so in microwave on half power. Take it out and stir, melt for 45 seconds on half power, and mix again.
Check that the Jell-O grains aren’t too big – you want them to be close to the size of the powdered sugar grains.
It takes just 30 minutes total time to prepare your fondant but it will be best if it’s left to rest overnight. Once you’ve kneaded it to a consistency like play dough, simply put a little shortening on your hands, rub over the fondant and wrap in plastic wrap.
