These crowd-pleasing Cinnamon Sugar Oven-Baked Donuts are so good and they’re bound to be a new favorite in your home. They are also very easy to make and taste great.

This recipe also requires no yeast and no rising time. This means you won’t be spending your entire afternoon in the kitchen. Gail says they turn out as good as any donut you’d buy from the bakery. The recipe also includes both cinnamon sugar and chocolate glazed versions.

Cinnamon Sugar Oven-Baked Donuts Ingredients

  • 3.5oz (100 g) butter melted
  • 1.5oz (45ml) vegetable oil
  • 4.4oz (125g) caster/superfine sugar
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 3.4oz (100ml) buttermilk
  • 2oz (60ml) milk
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 7.4oz (210g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Chocolate Donut Glaze Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or 1/2 slab dark chocolate
  • Butter, 2 Tablespoons
  • 2 Tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1–2 tsp hot water if needed

Cinnamon Sugar Coating Ingredients

  • caster/superfine sugar, 2 Tablespoons
  • 2 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons melted butter

Oven-Baked Donuts Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. Spray doughnut pan with non-stick cooking spray.

In a large jug whisk together butter, oil, caster sugar, eggs, buttermilk, milk, and vanilla essence. In a mixing bowl sift together flour, baking powder, soda, nutmeg, and salt.

Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and with a whisk mix until batter is smooth and lump-free. No electric mixer needed.

Spoon batter into donut pan and tap lightly to spread evenly. Don’t overfill pans,
they rise quite high. Bake for about 15 minutes until, or cooked through.

Leave to rest for 2 minutes before turning out.

How To Make Cinnamon Coated Donuts

First dip doughnut into butter then roll in the sugar mix.

Chocolate Glazed Donuts Method

Melt chocolate, butter and corn syrup on 50 power in micro stirring frequently until smooth and melted. Add hot water if the mixture is too thick. Dip donut into chocolate glaze and let drain on wire rack.
