Pig In A Mud Puddle Cake Instructions
You will begin by making a cake in a half sphere shaped pan. You can soak the cake in some simple syrup to be sure it stays moist.
Next, you will whip up the buttercream frosting using the recipe (link provided below). You will spread a thin layer over the cake, smoothing it out with a spatula until perfectly smooth.
To prepare your cake for the fondant, lightly spray it with a bit of water. This will help the fondant stick.
Now it’s time to dye your fondant a light shade of pink with some food coloring. Roll out the fondant in a thin layer, big enough to cover your cake. Smooth it over the cake and trim off any excess.
The mud puddle is made using chocolate buttercream frosting. Using the buttercream frosting recipe, you will spread this “mud” icing all over the cake plate to make your mud puddle.
The above is a general outline of how to make your Pig Cake but you can improvise. As you can see it’s easy when you know how.
