- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Red Velvet Cake Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups (1 lb 4 oz) all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups (12oz/ 360g)granulated white sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups (12 fl oz)vegetable or canola oil
- 1 cup (8 oz )buttermilk
- 1/4 cup (4 tbsp) red food coloring (good quality)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups (1 lb 4 oz) powdered sugar, sifted lightly to remove any lumps
- 1 lb (16 ounce) packages cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup (4oz )unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
